These Terms of Business outline the agreement between Claire Grant Photography (“the Photographer”) and the client (“the Client”). By booking a session, the Client agrees to the following terms.

1. Session Fee and Payment

  • A session fee of £75 applies to all newborn and cake smash sessions.
  • This fee covers the cost of the shoot itself, including the Photographer’s time, use of props, outfits, accessories, and inclusion of parent and sibling shots where applicable.
  • This fee is not a deposit and does not count as part payment toward any image packages.
  • Payment of the session fee is required to secure your booking. Until payment is received, no date or session is confirmed.
  • The session fee is non-refundable and will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances, at the sole discretion of the Photographer.

2. Session Fees and Packages

  • Session fees cover the cost of the shoot time only and are not redeemable against any package.
  • Package prices are provided at enquiry stage and are visible on the website and are non negotiable.
  • Additional images, prints, or wall art may be purchased after viewing your gallery.
  • Prices are subject to change but will be honoured once your booking is confirmed.

3. Maternity Sessions

  • The maternity shoot is an all-inclusive package, reflecting the time and care taken to edit the images that are included in the price.
  • This session also acts as an upfront service that secures a newborn shoot with the Photographer.
  • A £50 deposit is required to secure your maternity session date, with the remaining balance due 7 days before your session.
  • Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another date at the Photographer’s discretion.
  • Once full payment is received, your booking is confirmed and final.
  • Should baby arrive earlier than the maternity shoot date, the monies paid can be redeemed against the newborn shoot which will then become payable at £75.

4. Rescheduling, Cancellations, Illness, behaviour and Late Arrivals

  • The Photographer understands that illness can occur unexpectedly. If you or your child are unwell, please contact the Photographer at least 24 hours before your session, where possible, to rearrange your date.
  • Failure to provide at least 24 hours’ notice of illness may result in the rescheduled session being subject to an additional fee.
  • The Photographer reserves the right to cancel or postpone a session if she or anyone in her household is unwell, to ensure the safety of all clients—particularly newborns. In such cases, your session will be rebooked for the next available date.
  • The Photographer also reserves the right to reschedule due to emergency, unforeseen circumstances, or illness.
  • In the unlikely event that the Photographer must cancel and cannot reschedule, all fees paid will be refunded in full.
  • Late Arrivals:
    • Please arrive on time for your session. A delay of 15 minutes or more will result in that time being deducted from the overall session duration. This may lead to a shorter session and fewer images being taken.
    • If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, it will be at the Photographer’s discretion whether the session can still go ahead. If the session cannot proceed, the session fee will be forfeited and a new booking will be required to reschedule.
  • Behaviour
  • The Photographer is not responsible for the behaviour or cooperation of any child during the session.
  • If a child is unwilling, distressed, uncooperative, or “not playing ball,” this is outside the Photographer’s control.
  • A reshoot will only be offered at the Photographer’s discretion.
  • If a reshoot is requested due to behaviour or lack of cooperation, and the situation is not the Photographer’s fault, the reshoot will be chargeable at the standard session rate.

5. Image Viewing and Orders

  • Your edited gallery will be available within 1-2 weeks of your session.
  • The Client will select their images from the final edited gallery.
  • All orders must be placed within 48 hours of the gallery delivery and invoices paid upon ordering.
  • Due to the nature of digital products, all sales are final once images are delivered.

6. Image Editing and Retouching

  • The Photographer will provide a carefully selected and fully edited gallery that reflects her signature style.
  • Additional retouching (e.g., skin smoothing, background changes, object removal) may be available at an additional charge.
  • Raw or unedited images are not available for purchase or viewing.

7. Copyright and Usage

  • All images remain the copyright of Claire Grant Photography.
  • Clients are granted personal use rights for digital images purchased.
  • Images may not be altered, sold, or used commercially without written permission.
  • The Photographer retains the right to use images for marketing, portfolio, and social media purposes unless the Client requests otherwise in writing before the session.

8. Liability

  • Every care is taken to ensure safety during sessions, particularly with newborns. The Photographer is trained in safe newborn posing and will never place a baby in an unsafe position.
  • The Photographer cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries that occur during the session.
  • In the unlikely event of camera or equipment failure, liability is limited to the return of all payments received.

9. Gift Vouchers

  • Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

10. Data Protection

  • Personal data provided by the Client will be used solely for the purpose of fulfilling the photography service and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

11. Governing Law

  • These Terms of Business are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
